Rear boot (bellows) of the driveshaft for BMW R1250GS Adventure 2018-2024, R1250GS 2018-2023+, R1200GS Adventure LC 2014-2018 and R1200GS LC 2013-2018.

Regularly check the boot to ensure it fits properly and stays in place. Water and dirt can get underneath it, leading to catastrophic failure of the final drive.

Always treat the boot with Staburags lubricant.

Always lubricate the driveshaft with Castrol Optimol paste.

1:15 - 2:20 removing the fender, loosening the filling screw, loosening the drain screw - you will particularly need Torx of various sizes, everything can be found in the Honiton set

3:30 - 6:40 removing the wheel, brake caliper, lowering the final drive, disconnecting the shaft

6:54 - Castrol Optimol - lubricating the splined shaft

8:06 - Staburags - attaching the seal

8:50 connecting the shaft

10:40 returning the seal to the correct position (if damaged, brittle, replace with a new one (rear seal R1250GS/A, R1200GS/A LC 2013-2018, rear seal R1200GS/A 2004-2012, rear seal R1150GS/A, R1100GS))

11:00 - 13:20 reassembling all components, including specifying torque settings - you need a torque wrench

13:35 - fill with 180ml of appropriate oil (we recommend Castrol 75W-140, or Motorex Penta LC 75W-140 or original BMW Hypoid Axle Oil G3)
