Replacement for the original paper or foam filter. The air box does not need to be modified in any way. The filter is factory-treated with original K&N oil. Thanks to patented technology, K&N filters have a higher airflow rate (approximately 40%), while capturing smaller dust particles than the original filters. These filters are washable and therefore do not need to be replaced. K&N offers a 10-year or 1 million mile warranty on the functionality of these filters. The filter is ready for use right out of the box from the manufacturer.
